Transformation to Base Mode



The hinged plates on the waist are used to lock the waist joint from wobbling .Unfold the buttflap to pad his crotch (forming a base for his base mode).

Let me start by showing the transformation from Mobile Battle Station Mode...




These flaps help to secure the straightened knee in vehicle modes (so that picking him up won't disrupt the structure of the MOC).  The flaps are not unhinged to tuck to the side of the legs .

LEGO Sixgun , minion of Metroplex Part 2 of 2: Combined modes

In Transformers, Sixgun is a minion of  Metroplex and it consist of 4 weapons to be used by Metroplex and also a tower piece connected to Metroplex's base mode. All these components combines to form a robot.

Quickie of the Week #15 : The Making of LEGO Metroplex (updated 30/06/2015!)

As I slowly settled down to my new role as a parent ( hence the lack of updates in my blog for months), I started to think about what should I build next that  would be "easy" on my current schedule. This means something simplistic in transformation without requiring huge amount of time to brainstorm and figure out the engineering . Metroplex immediately fits the bill. :)

(Many years ago I first attempted to built Metroplex but it was amateurish-looking and he doesn't even have hands!) ,

LEGO Triple Changer Stormracer Part 1 of 2: Vehicle Modes



Stormracer is a custom triple changer robot/mech NOT from Transformers(tm) universe, However, legends has it that he is somewhat related to Seaspray in an alternate universe. This MOC transforms between the following modes: Helicopter, speedboat and a robot.
